Streaming Ads Catalog (Media & Entertainment)
How to create and populate a Media Titles catalog for Streaming Ads. A single unified Streaming Ads catalog supports both Media Card and Multi-Show Experience formats 1.
Creation flow
- Log in to TikTok Business Center.
- Left nav → Assets → Catalogs tab.
- Add catalog → fill required fields → industry = Media and entertainment → Create.
Constraints: after a Media Titles catalog is created, only the catalog name and shipping information can be changed 1. Currency, type, etc. are locked.
Adding titles — three modes
| Mode | When to use |
|---|---|
| Manual upload | Small libraries; in-form — mandatory fields upfront, optional expansion available. Images/videos uploaded from device or via hosting links 1. |
| Data feed schedule | Large libraries with frequent refresh — point at a feed URL and schedule refresh cadence. |
| Upload file (recommended for Streaming Ads) | CSV matching TikTok's catalog template. |
Hybrid tip from TikTok: upload product details via CSV first, then per-title View product details → upload images and videos directly from device and resize 1.
Title fields
Each title stores structured metadata plus media. Mandatory fields are surfaced upfront; optional fields expand beneath. Metadata typically includes:
- Title headline
- Genre
- Cover image
- Clip / trailer video
- IMDb review count (optional but used as an enriched CTA signal in Media Card)
- Landing page URL (can be per-title, used by Multi-Show Experience)
- Customisable text fields
Reference: 2 describes these fields as the ad-side inputs; 1 is the catalog-side spec.
Asset resizing — critical gotcha
Creatives must be resized per format before ads render. The resizing tool lives on the product-edit page in Catalog Manager 1:
| Format | Image | Video |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-Show Experience | 3:4 | 3:4 |
| Media Card | 2:3 | 9:16 |
Each size cropped separately. Crop box can't be scaled below the format's minimum. Save → wait for cropped creatives to load → Submit.
Product sets for streaming
- At least 5 titles per product set 1.
- Avoid over-segmenting — TikTok's guidance explicitly warns against it.
Product Sets for Media Titles catalogs are API-only in Sprinklr today (no UI) — per Catalog Types. Expect the same constraint here.
Rejected products / appeals
TikTok exposes a generic catalog-management section of the Business Help Center for managing, best practices, and appealing rejected products — applies to Streaming Ads catalogs too 1.
Sprinklr implication
Sprinklr's current TikTok catalog UI exposes the five catalog types including Media Titles, but treats Travel and Entertainment as API-only with no Product Sets UI and no Streaming-specific creative workflow. Supporting Streaming Ads end-to-end would require:
- Streaming Ads-specific asset-resizing UX (per-format 3:4 / 2:3 / 9:16 crops).
- Streaming-tuned product-set helper (enforce ≥5 titles, warn against over-segmentation).
- Streaming-aware Ads Composer (Media Card + Multi-Show creative source types).
Big enough to warrant its own PRD — out of scope for the Products-first MVP.
