Mike Shin
Mike Shin is the Chief Operating Officer of Founders, Inc., the San Francisco-based venture firm headquartered at Fort Mason.1 He joined in January 2026, announcing the role as a reunion with Furqan Rydhan, under whom he had previously worked at thirdweb.3
Education and early career
Shin studied at Carnegie Mellon University.2 He began his career at IBM and UBS before spending three years as an M&A consultant at PwC (2014--2017).28
Flexport
From July 2017 to May 2020, Shin was Senior Manager of Business Operations at Flexport, the San Francisco-based freight forwarding and logistics company.2 The role spanned nearly three years in the San Francisco Bay Area.2
TruePlan
In May 2020, Shin co-founded TruePlan.io alongside Jimmy Tang and Daniel Green.4 TruePlan was a cloud-based headcount-management and financial-visibility SaaS platform.4 Shin served as COO from 2020 to 2022.2 The company raised a $17 million Series A in November 2021, led by General Catalyst with participation from Defy.4 TruePlan is now listed as deadpooled on Tracxn.4
thirdweb and Succinct
From January 2023, Shin served as VP of Business Operations and Finance at thirdweb, a web3 developer tools company co-founded by Furqan Rydhan.2 He spent nearly three years there, eventually running the company's Asia operations and representing thirdweb at Korea Blockchain Week in 2024.7 In a September 2025 LinkedIn post, Shin credited Rydhan, Jake Loo, and Joher Khan for the opportunity at thirdweb.7
Shin then joined Succinct, a zero-knowledge proving infrastructure company, as Head of Operations and Finance in September 2025.6 He left Succinct in late 2025 to take the COO position at f.inc.3
Role at Founders, Inc.
As COO, Shin manages operational processes across Founders, Inc., which invests $100K--$250K checks at pre-seed and seed stage.5 Within his first month, he organized the Artifact Festival in February 2026, a demo event featuring 120 teams at the Fort Mason campus.7 He also announced a partnership with Athletes & Assets to connect f.inc portfolio founders with professional athletes for go-to-market support.7
