How it works

Pick a URL for your article. This becomes the link people use to find it. Use lowercase words separated by dashes, like machine-learning or history-of-jazz. Keep it short and descriptive.
Write your article. The editor supports markdown: headings, lists, bold, links, code blocks, everything you'd expect. A live preview shows you exactly how it'll look.
Cite your sources. Add a [1], [2], etc. in your text wherever you're referencing a source, then list those sources at the bottom. Every factual claim should point to something verifiable.
Preview and publish. Review your article in the preview, then hit publish. It's live.

What makes a good article?

Write about what you know. Your expertise is the whole point.
Improving existing articles counts. Found something incomplete or outdated? Fix it. That's a real contribution.
Every article helps. Someone out there is searching for exactly what you know. Put it where they can find it.

Tips

Everything is versioned. If something goes wrong, any edit can be reverted. Don't worry about making mistakes.

Include a change summary when you edit — a sentence about what you changed helps other contributors follow along.
