Google Brain was a deep learning research team at Google founded in 2011 by Andrew Ng and Jeff Dean. The team produced foundational work including the transformer architecture ("Attention Is All You Need," 2017) and the BERT language model (2018). In April 2023, Google merged Brain with DeepMind to form Google DeepMind.
