Divit Sheth
Divit Sheth is an Indian software engineer who is a Senior Software Engineer at the financial technology company Arcesium and CTO and co-founder of OpenAlmanac (originally The Almanac), an AI-powered knowledge platform.12 He is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, and contributes to OpenAlmanac remotely while the company is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts.1 Sheth co-founded the platform in October 2025 alongside Rohan Sharma (CEO) and Kushagra Chitkara.3 OpenAlmanac is part of the Canopy Spring 2026 cohort at Founders, Inc..
Early life and education
Sheth grew up in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.1 He attended Anand Niketan, Shilaj from 2005 to 2017, graduating with 93%.12 He then studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at The New Tulip International School in Ahmedabad from 2017 to 2019, scoring 90%.12
In 2019, Sheth enrolled at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani), Hyderabad Campus, where he pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.1 He graduated in 2023 with a CGPA of 8.77 out of 10.12 He completed a minor in Data Science between August 2021 and August 2023.12 His student ID was 2019A3PS0353H.84
During university, Sheth was a core member of the logistics team for TEDxBITSHyderabad from September 2019 to May 2021.12 He received a BITS Pilani COVID-19 Special Scholarship of 11,000 INR for his Practice School I work at NESAC.81
Internships
In the summer of 2021, Sheth interned at the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC) in Umiam, Meghalaya, through the BITS Pilani Practice School I program.42 He built a vegetation monitoring system for northeastern India using temporal satellite imagery, computing the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) with cloud masking in Google Earth Engine and integrating the results into a web application on Google App Engine.4
In summer 2022, Sheth interned at Arcesium's Gurugram office as a Software Engineer Intern on the Management Company Accounts (MCA) team.12 His mentor was Abhay Charan and his manager was Suved Agnihotri.71 He implemented backend APIs for expense accounts, built dashboard services, and developed frontend components.12 The internship ended with a full-time employment offer, which he announced in August 2022.7
From January to July 2023, Sheth interned at TELUS International AI Data Solutions in Bengaluru.12 He worked on annotation tools for 3D and 4D-Lidar datasets, designing a curved cuboid feature to improve 2D projections of 3D models that was adopted by a client in Hungary.1 He also built an undo stack manager for the 2D and 3D projection tools.1
Arcesium
Sheth joined Arcesium, a financial technology firm spun off from the D.E. Shaw group, at its Hyderabad office as a Software Engineer in August 2023.129 BITS Pilani placement records list his starting compensation at Arcesium as 3,250,000 INR.10 He was promoted to Senior Software Engineer in January 2025.211
At Arcesium, Sheth led a migration from a Java and MySQL stack to Kotlin and PostgreSQL, which the company estimated improved system performance by 20 to 30 percent.12 He built a system for configuring and tracking Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations using Apache Spark and Argo pipelines, processing over 1.5 billion rows of financial data.12 He also developed a data access and reporting tool with a frontend search panel and RESTful APIs, and engineered a pipeline automation solution using Amazon SQS that saved two minutes per build trigger.12
OpenAlmanac
In October 2025, Sheth co-founded The Almanac (now OpenAlmanac) with Rohan Sharma and Kushagra Chitkara while continuing to work at Arcesium.13 Sharma serves as CEO and Sheth as CTO.31 The platform launched on Product Hunt in December 2025 as an AI biography engine that crawls the public web, reconciles sources, and generates cited profiles.3 On its Product Hunt listing, co-founder Sharma described the platform's disambiguation engine as solving the problem of large language models confusing people who share the same name.3 The company stated the system could generate a new profile in under ten seconds.1
The platform has since evolved into OpenAlmanac, a broader open knowledge base organized around community wikis.1 Sheth contributes remotely from Hyderabad while the company operates from Cambridge, Massachusetts.1
Competitive programming
On LeetCode, Sheth has solved over 660 problems primarily in C++, with a contest rating of 1,628, placing him in the top 20 percent of competitors globally.51 On Codeforces, he uses the handle "divitsheth," has solved 174 problems, and reached a peak contest rating of 1,167.6 His Codeforces profile lists his affiliation as BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus.6

In June 2024, Sheth listed a personal project called Fineprint, a Chrome extension with the tagline "Simplifying privacy."12 In July 2021, he earned a Udemy certificate for "Mastering Data Structures and Algorithms."2
